Biomechanical Assessment

Biomechanical assessments are a longer appointment with a range of analyses performed to investigate pain such as:

Foot, heel, ankle, lower limb pain
muscle strains, bone pain, sprains
Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan formerly referred to as Enhanced Primary Care Plan or EPC

A Medicare rebate is applicable on certain podiatry services, for those patients with a CDM plan, issued by a GP. This will cover some of the cost of your treatment. The rebate can be applied for up to 5 appointments per year with an Allied Health Provider and is dependent of the total number of sessions your GP has outlined in your plan for podiatry. The CDM plan must be put in place your GP, and the CDM Podiatry referral must made to Xtracare Podiatry.

Full payment for your treatment is required before we can process your claim. We can lodge for the rebate to be electronically transferred into your bank account. Medicare needs to have your bank details for this to occur.
Private Health Funds

Extras cover that includes podiatry, may cover part of the cost of your appointment through a rebate. Please check this with your health fund before your appointment as we cannot access this information, and it is dependent on your type and level of cover.

For an estimate of out-of-pocket expense, please contact us for details of relevant item numbers for your needs. You will then need to check the rebate with your health fund against these item numbers.

We will provide you with a receipt for you to manually claim with your private health insurer.
